Washington, DC—The Task Force on American Innovation, a coalition of businesses, trade groups, scientific and engineering societies, and university organizations which supports federally-funded scientific research, today issued the following statement on the release of the Biden Administration’s FY24 Budget:

“We are pleased to see so many increases in key investments in the innovation economy. The Task Force on American Innovation is particularly pleased to see that the Biden budget includes $8.8 billion for the DOE Office of Science (an increase of $680 million); $11.3 billion for the National Science Foundation (an increase of $1.8 billion); and $1 billion for the National Institute of Standards and Technology. And we appreciate the Administration’s commitment to working with Congress to ensure full funding of the CHIPS and Science Act. We also look forward to the release of the full NASA and Department of Defense numbers this coming Monday and especially encourage increased funding for Defense Research and Development. These increases in science research funding are crucial if the United States is going to continue to be the worldwide leader in innovation.  TFAI looks forward to working with the Administration and with both the House and Senate on these issues.”
