Group says funding basic research is essential
Washington, DC—The Task Force on American Innovation (TFAI), a coalition of companies, university associations and professional societies that supports sustained and robust federal investment in scientific research, today released the following statement on the release of the President’s proposed FY 2018 budget proposal:
“The Task Force on American Innovation believes that America must invest in robust and sustained funding in basic research to remain a world leader in innovation. As drafted, this budget does not adequately invest in this national priority.
TFAI looks forward to working with Congress and the White House to align this proposal more closely to the needs of our nation to keep us safe, secure, healthy and working.”
